Impact is the CPS student information management software. Impact is a wide ranging program that covers many different aspects of student information management under its umbrella. For our purposes we will be discussing SIM which is what teachers and school staff will use to check on the students. Because of the introduction of Impact Gradebook during the 2008-2009 school year Impact SIM is no longer used by teachers to disperse grades or attendance. To access Impact click the Impact icon on your desktop or go to the Impact website http://impact.cps.k12.il.us
A new web browser will open and you will see this page:
Click on the first icon on the right to open SIM. Click the link on the left to read the provided documentation. A new window will open that will look like this:
Use your CPS login and Password then make sure you use the correct domain. The default is instr. If you use the admin domain you will need to change domain to admin.cps.k12.il.us
